1) Register or Enrol? First, you will come to a decision to either register your child as a homeschool student where you are completely in charge of their learning or enrol them in a Distance Learning Program where they have a teacher that oversees their learning. Depending on your decision, will be what shapes your next step.
2) Choosing learning materials Secondly, you will need to have learning resources. There is so much to choose from if you have decided to register as a homeschooler. If you are enroling then your school will guide you to the curriculum to use and set up a learning plan with you for the school year.
3) Get Organized Prepare your home. You want an atmosphere that will be condusive to learning.
4) Design a Learning Plan Make a plan! It might change many times throughout the year and that is OK but have a plan. Life continues to happen and there will be interuptions and distractions to steer you off course and you will be grateful that you have a plan in place that will get you back on track. On those busy days, your older children will be able to refer to their learning plan and continue to work independently. |

You have asked a lot of questions, read alot of information and are now convinced or nearly so, that homeschooling is the best choice for your child for right now. So what are the next steps?
